Our Story
Zach just graduated from WSU and had lost his free student gym membership. After weeks of sneaking in, he noticed a particularly fetching (and deceptively short) redheaded manager at the front desk. Suddenly he grew a conscience- and decided to pay for a membership. Fancy that.
But by the time he got to the front desk- she’d handed the task- and him- off to one of her many subordinates.
This love story starts as any other.
With crime. And biceps.
Turns out the difference between stalking and romance is chemistry- something they had instantly.
The two talked for hours (which, frankly, was very unprofessional of Emily- who was on the clock).
They decided to go out for coffee and a walk at the arboretum as a first date- the latter never happened; they spent 4 hours talking and laughing and never left the coffee shop.
That night Zach, who had been prepared to leave Pullman later that month, decided that staying in town for the summer didn’t sound so bad.
Thankfully, she’d signed her name on the intake form.
Zach committed the name to memory- which is famously very reliable- and noted the time of day.
He went back to the gym every day (brag) at the same time in search of this “Emily Jones”.
A summer turned into a year.
Emily; finishing school and starting a budding cat collection.
Zach; working at a public radio station during the day and moonlighting as the world’s giggliest bouncer.
Both enjoying all the Palouse had to offer.
Dancing the night away at Etsi Bravo, getting sunburnt at the Dunes and saying “I love you” by accident on the way back
(it was Emily, don’t let her gaslight you (I’ll deny it to the grave)).
But it turns out not even the big bucks from a part-time public radio career are enough to make it in the big city of Pullman.
Zach took a job in Spokane at KHQ-TV, just a few hours away.
Then a little thing called “COVID” happened.
Classes went online, everyone was hoarding toilet paper for some reason and we all spent way too much time on TikTok.
Zach allegedly gave Emily COVID- and the two quarantined together; just a few weeks before moving in together.
Zach, Emily and Joey (Domek, the best man. He’s a recurring character in this story) kept one another sane in a 800 sq. ft. apartment while the world was shut down.
Joey moved out to find a fiancée of his own- which is a story for another wedding website that will drop later this year.
Emily and Zach explored Spokane- Emily learned the wine industry, Zach covered famously chill historical events daily and the two adopted a third cat.
They decided that was probably enough cats.
So they got a dog.
I’d kill for you, Benji.
6 years of belly laughs, long hugs and good memories.
Seems like that’s worth a few diamonds.
Now, we’re back home in Seattle- reconnecting with family and friends, enjoying the little things and figuring out what comes next.
Every last one of you has made an impact on our lives- and we truly couldn’t have done it without you.
We cannot wait to celebrate the incredible journey we’ve had- and the road ahead.
